you shouldn't try to encrpt using the membership provider. you need to have same configuration for it in web.config of your other app, same machine key and same application name (and database) and it will use same encrypted value

You can also use web service such as IWEB to support authentication (username/pw0 and authorization (role).

@Sebasitan I too have a similar situation, I've tried what you suggested but i'm still unable to login an user that's within the dnn database. Is it possible to go further in details in achieving this; would really appreciate it
