I'm working on adding the content and pages on a new dnn site.  However, I'm having problems with the blog. Namely getting trackbacks to work. Either by setting it up so that I have to enter the trackback url or enabling trackback auto discovery.  I entered the trackback url for another blog while placing a test post and it seems the the other blog doesn't pick up the trackback.  I even tested it with the blog on the dnn blog project page and it didn't work.   Can anybody lead me in the right direction?

Here's the blog on my site. Forgive the construction.

Any resources that I could check out to help resolve the issue would be helpful if anybody has any.

Trackbacks key off the "Comments" section of another blog and do not send email notifications when clicked as text within the normal text portion of a blog (at least in the testing I've done).

With any luck, you should have received an email based on a comment I have added to one of your test blogs.

Personally, I don't see a lot of benefit to enabling trackbacks so I'd be curious to hear how you plan to use it.

I plan on using trackbacks to link to other blogs automatically and help generate traffic to the site.  I also have other friends who love to blog, so trackbacks will be a good tool for referring traffic in between the blogs.

What I actually found out is that on the auto discovery "tries" to work, but I think the url that it's sending out is slightly different from the actual url containing the special trackback code, therefore when the other blog looks for for the information, it never finds it.  When referring either the permanent link or the trackback url, when I link from another blog, it never adds the trackback comment. The fustrating thing is that it doesn't log any information on failures either, which makes it hard for those of us who don't know how to program in asp.net yet (Cold Fusion Programmer).

I had finally gotten frustrated and moved over to community server to handle my blogging since it handles that and the forums pretty well.  I'm still looking into a way to get the dotnetnuke's trackback working properly, but it isn't as high of a priority as it was before. .

i'm having the same issues with the trackback function. have posted it in this forum but with no replies as yet. can anyone point me to a place where the trackback actually works? I'm not sure how it will look like it it works. If you have found a solution, it would be greatly appreciated if you could post it here. Thanks.
