What is the best practice? One install per domain name, or one install with multiple portals?

Can I use host headers?

Thanks in advance!

Marc

I don't know how other's setup their protals but I base it on projected traffic and user base. I've got three portals that are fairly small and not very busy under one install while I've got another single install for a portal that's fairly busy (>5000 regular users) though I could have probably safely just put them all under one.

Yes you can use host headers.

I base this on access and security.  Separate installs if the database needs to be entirely separate.

Thanks!

Is there a performance issue either way regarding multiple database vs. larger database with multiple sites?
