hi everyone,

i have been using dotnetnuke from the past 2 months...

i have downloaded DotNetNuke 4.7 source code and installed it.

but there is a requirement to change the forums module functionality...so i downloaded the source code of Forums module (Forum_04.04.03_Source).

i have logged into the application as host/ super admin user credentials and Host >> Module Definitions >> Install New Modules >>  and then pointed to zip file and selected the Forum_04.04.03_Source.zip file. The module got installed...and finally added it to a page.

now i want to make some modificationsto the code files....

but the  application is still pointing to the DotNetNuke.Modules.Forum.dll , so eventhough i make anychanges to the code it is not getting reflected.

Please help me out if my installation procedure is wrong or i need to follow some more steps to complete the installation.

Hi everyone

the problem got solved

whenever we are working with forums module source code (Forum_04.04.03_Source), we need to open the DotNetNuke.Forum.sln solution in the \DesktopModules\Forum  to make the changes.

I tried to open the solution DotNetNuke.Forum.sln but unable to do so, it throws an error VS doesn't support this format because VS 2005 standard edition need some components to open the soultion.

Following are the components we may need to install before opening the solutin..

  1. WebApplicationProjectSetup.msi
  2. VS80-KB915364-X86-ENU.exe

These files can be found at the following location ...

Those files are part of Visual Studio 2005 SP1 and do not require a seperate download if you have the SP installed.
