hi this may be a silly question but i am somewhat new to DNN.  When i tried to download the latest version, it downloaded it as 4.0.7 which is the version i am currently using.  are these the same versions?

Are you sure it didn't download as 4.07.00? The version you're talking about have before is probably 4.0.7

Hello,

hmm. i didnt realize there was a difference, yes it downloaded as DotNetNuke_04.07.00_Install, which is the same version that i am using.  I am basically trying to upgrade to the latest version of DNN to accomplish what i read in DNNCreative:

In this tutorial we walk you through the steps needed to enable your DotNetNuke installation to become XHTML compliant. These steps will only work with the latest 4.4.x version of DotNetNuke.

I am assuming now that this is an older article, but when i looked at the version of my DNN it said 4.0.7.00 so naturally i thought i needed to upgrade.  does this mean that i have the latest version of DNN installed?  if yes, then it's time to start a brand new post! "How to make your DNN spit out XHTML Compliant code!"

pls let me know if this is the case, and thanks for the response.

I don't know if you made a type but you said "when I looked at the version of my DNN it said 4.0.7.00". Was there supposed to be a period "." before the 7? If there was then you are running the older version. The other way is when did you install that version of DNN? If it's been in the last month then you've got the right version. If it was a year or so ago then you've got the older version.

as there has never been a DNN version 04.00.07, it is obviously 04.07.00m but generally please be precise, when using version numbers to avoid any confusion!
