Hi. I'm usingDNN version 3.1.0 (trying to get my sysadmin to let me upgrade).

I have a Text/HTML module that I've put a kind of customized image map into, with CSS popups on the different map areas. Everything looks beautiful and perfect while I am logged in as an administrator on the site. But as soon as I log out, and view the page as a regular visitor would, everything ismessed up.

I am using CSS absolute positioning for this, and when logged in as an admin, my positioning works relative to my image - within the module itself. So if the first area is 27 pixels from the left, it shows up 27 pixels from the left edge of the module. But when logged out, it shows up 27 pixels from the edge of the page.

Does anyone have any idea why this would be happening, and what the difference is when I am logged and logged out?

You should install Firefox with the Firebug and Web Developer addons. Use the Inspect Element (right click) and Edit CSS (menu) options in each to examine and temporarily alter what is happening. This is the only way to troubleshoot these things.

You may find you need to enclose your content in a table or something else positioned relatively in order to give your absolutely positioned items a base. I always find this one of the more difficult ones to get working properly. Firebug will let you see what has changed in the code directly around around your content after you sign out and it display what styles are affecting the item you inspected.

I've got Web Developer already but I didn't know about Firebug. I'll try it out and see if I can fix it. Thanks!
