When we add forums programmatically we would like to delete the default Discussions/General.

Despite trying to clear the cache and synchronize the module this default doesn't seem to appear until after the page has been visited.  It's not just that it doesn't appear on the page but it does not appear in the database (as a group).

Can you tell us what we are missing?

Usability perspective:

From a usability perspective the label at the top "Forum" in the singular appears directly above the label "Forums" in the plural.  It seems these should both be plural to help the user fix a cognitive model of how the system works.  Otherwise there is an intuitive conundrum.  This is exacerbated by having a default group appear called "Discussions".  All these general labels are confusing, which is why we want t delete the Discussions/General.
