I'm reading a book by Apress which explains how DNN Installs and runs seamlessly with VWD 2005 Express.

I'm not getting any joy with VWD 2008 Express trying the same thing.

DNN won't even install using the starterkit.vsi, i'm trying version 4.7.0 but just getting errors.

Does anybody have any suggestions please?

I know that DNN 4.7.0 doesn't necessarily play well with VS 2008 at this time, this is why a DNN 4.8.0 is in the works that will provide support for VS2008.

Ok Thanks.

I've uninstalled 2005 tho. Any idea where I can download it from? I can only find 2008 or 2005 SP1 which needs a 2005 base install?

Also any idea when 4.8.0 released?

Thanks

Well I've installed 4.8.0 and VWD 2008 and the starter kit install fails with an error: "String length cannot be zero."

If I modify the vscontent file to use 2008 instead of 2005 in the line: <VSContent xmlns="http://schemas.microsoft.com/developer/vscontent/2005"> then I get an error that says: "No conent in file".....I do not think anything will work with VWD 2008 in the DNN family....

Dear Mark,

Did you find a solution for this?

Regards,
