Hi, I just installed 4.70 starter kit (I'm looking to add enhancements). And received the following message after installation "Domain Name localhost/DotNetNuke_2 Does Not Exist In The Database." I checked the portals table and there are no records in this table. BTW is the starter kit download in VB.NET only can I get this in C#? Trying to keep the code-base consistent Can someone explain step by step what I need to do to get this going? My Configuration 1. Windows Advanced Server 2003 version 5.2.3790 Service Pack 1 Build 3790 2. IIS6 3. ASP.NET 2 -- VS2005 version 8.0.50727.42 using the .NET Framework 2.0.50727 4. SQL Server 2000 database version 8.00.194 SP1 I think this portal has potential and I'd like to propose this portal to a client, however if I can't get installation to work seamless then I can't make the recommendation. Thanks, Joe

If you're setting this up on a server I would recommend using the Install version of DNN, not the starter kit.

Are you trying to reference this from the server, or from a local machine?

It's on my physical server. I intend to make code modifications(necessary for the client). Thanks,

Hello Again, Portal is now working. This is what I did:
1. Ran the system updates first to get the latest and greatest SPs
2. Deleted the database
3. Recreated the database
4. Ran the installwizard.aspx instead of the install.aspx
5. Followed the steps in installwizard.aspx

Next steps: customizing this portal to what the client requirements, i.e. look and feel. I've gotten the dummies book to help me out.

Thanks,
