I downloaded the "upgrade" package. But it appears to contain all the files. I was under the impression that an "upgrade" package would just contain the changed files and maybe a sql script. Do I copy all of these files over top of my existing DNN files? How do I do this upgrade?

Thanks.

P.S. I'm upgrading from 4.7 to 4.8

The only difference between Upgrade and Install is that Install contains a web.config file.

I'd backup all my files to another folder, then replace the files with the upgrade, then drop web.config back in.  Unless, you've modified any of the source files.  Then you'd have to compare the upgrade files and modify the source files with your changes.

Okay, thx. I haven't modified any source code so I'll just drop in everything except the web.config. I read in another thread though that the active directory plugin doesn't work with this latest version so I'll probably hold off for now anyway.

Sometimes when upgrading you must get new sections out of the web.config, depending on changes to the web.config from version to version, so be careful of not getting those.
