All of my DNN websites are version 3.

In order to use some modules i need to switch to ver 4. Is it possible using the upgarde version?

If not, what is the best way for me to do that in order to keep the cpntent as is? :-(

Sure, you can use any of the upgrade versions to upgrade to a newer dnn version.

From my experience, it is best to upgrade to dnn 4.5.5. first, and then to any of the newer versions (4.6.2, 4.7.0 or 4.8.0)

WOW, good news :-)

Should i do something else but extracting the upgarde zip file to the same directory that my website is located?

Thank you and Merry Christmas

OMG.

I try it and i got an SQL string error issue.

Does DNN ver4.x work on MSSQL 2005 only? No chance making it works on MSSQL 2000/3?

all dnn 3.x and 4.x versions work with both sql 2000 and sql 2005.

Upon upgrade, you need to make sure that the connectionstrings in the new webconfig are correct (there are 2 connectionstrings in dnn4), also make sure you copy the machine keys. IF you upgrade from dnn 3, you might also need to switch from asp.net 1.1 to asp.net 2.0
