Hi!

I a completely newbee to DNN. I have just installed it, and wonders about two tings regarding language packs:

Are they tightly tied to the version of the DNN framework? I have installed DNN 4.8, and wonder if the norwegian language pack ResourcePack.Core.04.05.01.nb-NO.zip will function on DNN 4.8?

And what is actually a language pack? Would it "translate" anything a visitor on my website (using DNN) would see?

Best regards,
Olaf

Olaf,

using the language pack for a previous version will work, though there might be some items missing translation, e.g. the login page. you can complete the localization yourself using the Language Editor in Host :: Languages menu item, make sure to generate a to do list using the resource verifier (in Host :: Languages as well).

A language pack translate all static text, provided by the core framework or a module itself, but not the content entered by an author. you install or create it from inside Host :: Languages.
