Antonio,

I would be interested in knowing more about the plans for MetaWeblog API integration with the blog module.  I recently released a free module which provides this functionality for the blog module and was thinking of expanding this to third party modules through a provider interface.  Is MetaWeblog going to be implemented in the core of DNN or are you just referring to MetaWeblog integration with the blog module?  I'm also interested to know what the timeframe is and if the framework will be extensible.  It sounds from your post like you may already be working on an infrastructure to associate uploaded resources with blog entries.

Thanks,

Don

Oh man.  I just updated to the latest Blog module really looking forward to the new look and functionality.  Then I discovered that file and image upload is gone!  I did some quick Googling and my fears were confirmed by this post.  My users could handle the upload using the Blog before.  The creation of the links and directory structure worked beautifuuly and something they have grown used to.  With the new Blog module there is no comparable functionality in the module or the system.  I'm going to have to revert back tot the old module.

Rob states very good reasons why this functionality should be reinstated.  I sincerely hope the team and the DNN community make this happen.  If there is some better solution in the future, great, but the future is not here yet and my non-technical users need a non-techie way to add their content to Blogs.

Thanks,
Bill

Image handling with all modules that utilize the html editor is an issue.
I brought this up a very long time ago.  It was added as a major by Charles Nurse, and has been withdrawn - re-added - and withdrawn again.

The reason for withdrawing it is that it was related to the Free text box module.

It actually has more to do with html provider and infects every module that relies on it with terrible CMS practices.
