Frustrating... how were you able to do that??? I tried every which way I could think of to get any YouTube videos to my forums. Is there any way you can write down the steps and host those steps on your website for us to view so they don't get stripped from this forum, please? Not having the ability to post Flash files is hurting some of the critical processes we use our group for on my site. It would have been nicer for the DNN developers to have provided an option to select if we wanted this "Security feature" applied or not in the Admin Settings. Let the Site Owners make the decision (And accept the responsibility) for how much "security" they want to apply.

Thanks in advance!

Steps (sorry for my english):

1- Go to a YouTube video page, like this one: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E3gxQ1tetAQ

2- Copy th EMBED code:

<object width="425" height="355"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/E3gxQ1tetAQ&rel=1"></param><param name="wmode" value="transparent"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/E3gxQ1tetAQ&rel=1" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" wmode="transparent" width="425" height="355"></embed></object>

3- Edit a new post in your forum, and go to HTML view.

4- We only need this html code (here is the bug):

<embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/E3gxQ1tetAQ&rel=1" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" wmode="transparent" width="425" height="355">

As you can see, I didn't close de </embed> tag.

5- And this is what you have:

Has anyone posted on what is killing the embeded object code? I think I recall a post early about this being a core security probelm. I would like a jump on where this is actually being done at and try to disable it. Thanks for the hack btw Ferrly

Chuck, the filter is applied in the EditPost.ascx.vb's PostToDatabase() method. There is a call to the core Security class which the post content is sent through which filters HTML code and this is what removes the content.

Thank you very much FerNy!! I was able to replicate your success on my forum! Now if only I could find a way to get the aggregate forum to update whenever someone posts.
