What is your advise on increasing your Google page rankings if you are running a DNN website? What program do you use to create a sitemap for your DNN website?

I am personally using the Sitemap that DNN creates.  The biggest things that can help you are to ensure that your titles and content are effective for the items you are looking to get placement for.  The other big thing is to get GOOD external links to your site.

Here are a few search engine tips.

Always use titles like Scott mentioned.  Some SEO experts view them as secret weapon when used properly.  And go ahead and use up to about 40 characters in the title, but try to cap it at that.  Directories look for "About Us" pages, so always have one for each site.  You can also use keywords in your anchor tags, and use at least one H1 tag on each page.  Search engines pick up on them nicely.

Avoid long URL's and duplicate content.  They are big search engine indexing barriers.  Also, wait at least 4 months before resubmitting a sitemap or site to search engines after the initial submission.

1. You need to have really good outside links.  Paying a partner to link to your site can go a long way.

2. A very descriptive site header.

3. Fresh content, things like forums and blogs that update often are very good.

4. Avoid invisible links and useful content that are images as opposed to text.

Just some really easy things that can really bump you up on google.  Also doing large sweping changes before google indexes can get you pretty substantial short term gains.
