hi

I am looking for a CMS and am trying to find out whether DNN allows for adding content to multiple catgories / cross-categorization of content? This is the main function that I need for my CMS as I have both articles and business listings that need to fall under more than one category. I was just about to install Joomla! when I noticed that it does not allow for the cross-categorizaion of data so I was wondering if DNN offer this before I go ahead and use it.

Lastly - How easy is it to customise the design or create a totally new design for the website?  I have several static html websites already and if I upgrade them to incorporate a cms, the design needs to look the same.

Any advice would be much appreciated!

Louise

Try Drupal. It supports such things out of the box.

In DNN these things are achieved via modules rather than in-built functionality. You would need to find a module that does what you want. Most modules that categorise data allow entries to belong to more than one category. Examples are the Repository, Ventrian's News Articles and also Ventrian's Property Agent (which is a bad name for a module that does duty as many different things).

Skinning DNN and modules has a steep learning curve, so unless you want to be doing this sort of thing full time, have a look at some other options first, or consider getting it done for you.

It sounds to me like you need to be specific about functional requirements and do some more investigation.

Rob
