Hello,

I have noticed a strange behaviour of Notification option. If a user creates a new thread, ALL the users of my forum receive a notification of the insertion of new thread. Is this a normal behaviour?!

Thank You

If you set the forum type to Notification, which it sounds like you did, it will send one to all forum users. You should use standard "Normal" forum types unless you have a specific need to email all users of the forum each time a new post is added. (Which should be very rare, if ever). Normal forums can still receive notifications by users selecting notification for a specific forum in their "Settings".

Can I specify this default user settings? Another question: in this forum (for this forum I mean DotNetNuke Projects - Forum Module) I see Notification check box (but I suppose that is not set to Notification type). My forum has this check box only if the type is set to Notification. Do you know the reason?

thank you

If you are subscribed to a forum via "My Settings" you will just see an email envelope w/ no option to subscribe. This is by design.
