What is the url address for the first site to access via intranet and web?

that would be the address as specified in the DNS, and set up in IIS.

ie. if the dns name of your machine is MyMachine, en you setup DNN in a website on that machine, and that website is set up to respond to requests with MyMachine in the host header, then the url would be http://mymachine.

Thanks for your reply.

That is how I set-up the site, but when I access the link from anothe pc in the local network, what comes up is the site with the dotnetnuke logo at the top and it looks like the original default.aspx page to sign in and administer the site. It does not go to the main portal page of the first site created.

Any help is appreciated. Thanks.

how many sites/portals did you create on your installation?

You have to make sure that the portal that you are trying to reach with a certain url has this url defined in its portal aliases list (you can update that list by logging on as host, and then by going to the site settings of that portal... bottom of the page)
