I have uploaded the ms word file to the server.(say the file name is test.doc)

now i want to edit that file from client side w/o downloading (i.e. w/o using Save As) that file in the client side.

i have already use 'Response.ContentType' and 'Response.AddHeader'. But it required the file to be saved at the client side, edit that file at client side and upload it to server. i want these to be automatically handle. In details---the user open the test.doc file situated at server, make necessary modificatiion on it and save it.

you can not edit a ".doc" file server side (like google do it using ex "writely").

It should be possible using ".docx" files - office 2007 version - which are simple xml files.
