Dear dnn-fellows.

I want to tell you wat I've done.
I've reinstalled my version 04.05.05. I've looked at the event viewer. That was OK.

I've erased the following .dll files before upgrading. See...
http://www.dotnetnuke.com/Community/Forums/tabid/795/forumid/107/threadid/193052/scope/posts/Default.aspx

DotNetNuke.HttpModules.Authentication.dll
DotNetNuke.HttpModules.Compression.dll
DotNetNuke.HttpModules.DNNMembership.dll
DotNetNuke.HttpModules.Exception.dll
DotNetNuke.HttpModules.Personalization.dll
DotNetNuke.HttpModules.UrlRewrite.dll
DotNetNuke.HttpModules.UsersOnline.dll
DotNetNuke.Provider.DBLoggingProvider.SqlDataProvider.dll
DotNetNuke.Provider.Membership.SqlDataProvider.dll

The following .dll files I've not found

DotNetNuke.Authentication.ADSI.dll
DotNetNuke.Authentication.ADSIProvider.dll
DotNetNuke.Provider.SQLMembershipProvider.dll
DotNetNuke.Provider.SQLProfileProvider.dll
DotNetNuke.Provider.SQLRoleProvider.dll
I've upgrade the process to 04.08.00

The upgrading process was OK...
But I've still the same error.

Who can help me?
What have I to do?

Hi dnn-fellows

I've reïnstalled my old 04.05.05 version.
And update a few modules because it could be a few bugs in the dnn-modules.
I knew that the 'old' forum module give some errors and the media module.
I've deleted the media module. I've installed this module but not used yet (and that version is from 05 december 2006, it seems that everything is still there).
I've installed the new forum module succesfully version 04.04.03.
In this website I've two instance of the forum module. (Tab-Y and Tab-Z)
When I go to Tab-Y/ForumAdministration/GeneralSettings.... and change something, then I see in my Eventviewer that a General exception occurs.

Could that be the reason?
I've seen also that Crispy said in this thread:
http://www.dotnetnuke.com/Community/ForumsDotNetNuke/tabid/795/forumid/8/threadid/64010/scope/posts/Default.aspx
I have no idea what this is, never seen an error like this for anything.

Have someone a idea/a solution before I upgrade this website? I'll appreciate if there is somebody who will help me.

Hi dnn-fellows

Most of the errors disappear when you do this...
First
In the forum module reset the search data...

Second
Fix the Dnn errors in the search Scheduler
See this post:
http://www.mitchelsellers.com/Blogs/tabid/54/articleType/ArticleView/articleId/111/Default.aspx
(thanks Mitchel)
run the blow query to update the DesktopModules table to fix any incorrect entries

UPDATE DesktopModules
SET SupportedFeatures = 0
WHERE SupportedFeatures = -1

Now I'll test this site further if there are other errors...

Dnn-fellows I'll you inform if I got other errors...
Site runs (local)...
I give it a try to upgrade in a few days.

I noticed that you have a few posts here that went without answer, but I thought I would answer at least one of the items for you.

The Providers folder inside the bin directory is created AFTER the upgrade to a 4.6.0 or later install.  The folder is created when the new Authentication Providers are installed.

Mitch

Thank you very much for your answer. I appreciate that. I knew that there are a few dnn-fellows who cares about the difficulties that 'dnn-friends' have..
Yes, I've seen that after I've upgrade to 04.08.00. But I think that can't be the reason for that error. I hope that the upgrade goes well now. I'll inform you.
