I had just finished with the installation of 4.8. Everything look fine to me but when i tried to access the portal i got the following

 

Server Error in '/DotNetNuke' Application.

Value cannot be null.
Parameter name: path1

I have seen a couple of threads with some what of a similar issue but that was due to an upgrade but this is a fresh install.


How would i uninstall and reinstall DNN? When i tried to go http://localhost/DotNetNuke i got the same error

I to have the same issue with a clean and fresh install as well. Using a server 2003 with sql 2005 db, installing 4.8.0 source.

Thanks for any help.

As I recall I got this error installing an earlier version, I believe I had to either update the ASP.NET version in IIS to 2.x.xxx, or possibly had to add permissions to the physical directory for both NETWORK SERVICE and ASP.. something, it was in the Active Directory search.

I'm not 100% if this fixed it, I just remember getting past this error.  I would check both those things first, before you try to do a reinstall.
