Hi There.

Not sure if this is the correct forum to post on, so apologies.

I've been playing around with the web.config file (Ver 4.8)  to try other menu providers and have noticed that UNLESS the DNNMenuNavigationProvider is used the site error page occurs; ie portal crash.

This occurs even with SolPart selected as the default provider - looks like it's not even being used if I wanted to use it.

Any Ideas appreciated.

Cheers

Arthur

I have found the answer, and am reporting here for all.

Because the installation skins and containers (.ascx files) make reference to the DNNMenuNavigationProvider by default, to use teh SolPart one, a manual replacement of the provider to be used in the .ascx files must be performed; this is regardless of the default provider settings in the web.config.

I assume youhaventchanged your skin accordingly the new provider.

My advice dont change in web.config, tell what provider you like to use in your skin instead.
