Hi All,

I would like to build a food store which allow customer to see the description and then buy online. Basically I would like to have the functionality of shopping cart, paypal payment, food menu/catalog. Is there any good module and NOT expensive for this features? Also, I use godaddy as my web hosting in the past 2 years, and I really have difficulty to make DNN running as well as the DNN version that they supported is not updated. Is there any good web hosting out there for DNN? Any thought...thanks.

I would recommend catalook or portal store if you are looking for something with features but inexpensive.  If you are looking for the most solid DNN storefront AspDotNetStorefront is, by far, the best choice.  It is quite a bit more expensive than the others but it is very well supported and extemely powerful.

In terms of hosting I would definitely recommend PowerDNN, for full disclosures sake, I am part of PowerDNN.  We are a DNN hosting specialist so you are always going to get someone on the phone or in e-mail that knows DNN in and out.  You can also run DNN in full trust which always you to use nearly every module out there.  Just thought I'd drop you the recommendation because If you have been with GoDaddy for a while I know you'd like PowerDNN.

Ron,

John has great suggestions... I have seen a lot of sites that run catalook (visit www.snowcovered.com to buy), and Power DNN comes highly recommended by lots of people.  Other shopping cart modules include Active Purchase from Active Modules, Ali Commerce from http://www.alicommerce.com, and rest assured there are several others.  Download some trials and see what fits your needs, then go from there.  Catalook tends to be a bit complex for DNN beginners, but can be mastered without too much extended effort.  The other available modules tend to have simpler installation and configuration.

A very good e-commerce for DotNetNuke (DNN) is SDN Store, easy to set up and not expensive at all, you can find it at: http://www.sysdatanet.com . It has an excellent Guided Tour: http://www.sysdatanet.com/sysdatanet/dotnetnuke/GuidedTour/Default.aspx  with a very popular forum: http://www.sysdatanet.com/forum where they reply almost instatntly. Most of the features are already built, however they can always add new ones for you, including installation and configuration at very competitive prices.
