I am using 4.02

When I log out from admin or host, it takes me to http://localhost/dotnetnuke4/Admin/SiteSettings/tabid/39/portalid/0/Logoff.aspx

And gives me an "You are not authorized to view this page" error

I also get the following error ALL the time:

Object reference not set to an instance of an object.

Description: An unhandled exception occurred during the execution of the current web request. Please review the stack trace for more information about the error and where it originated in the code.

Exception Details: System.NullReferenceException: Object reference not set to an instance of an object.

Source Error:

Line 76:             app.Context.Items.Add("UrlRewrite:OriginalUrl", app.Request.Url.AbsoluteUri)
Line 77:
Line 78:             Dim rules As Config.RewriterRuleCollection = Config.RewriterConfiguration.GetConfig().Rules

i am using the same version and encounter this error, too. it happens very often. if i press enter in the browsers address bar again the site loads (most of the time).

i even have disabled friendly urls in the host settings ("Use Friendly Urls?") and i am still getting this error. is this a bug?

The message you specified doesn't seem to match the error. Can you post the contents of your SiteUrls.config file? Outside of an error in that file, the only thing I can guess would be that IIS and/or file permissions are wrong. Have you recently copied new files to the web directory? You might want to try replacing the owner of the DNN root directory and all child objects to be the Administrators group. This has helped me in the past, but I haven't had this problem with DNN, yet. Worth a shot, anyway.
