Hi,

I've been trying to figure out how to change the text of the error message that reads "You do not have access to view this tab within the portal" whenever a previous subscriber to our site, whose subscription expired, logs in.  The message is very misleading, and some of our users assume that they are unable to view the site at all when they come accross this message.

Is there an easy way to edit this text, or to eliminate it entirely (perhaps by re-routing expired members to a different homepage which alerts them their subscription expired?)

Thank you for any help you can offer.

How many expired members are we talking about, because you could just set up a role to do this.

go into your admin menu and click on users or user accounts.  then create a role that is able to view the pages in question.  Next go into the profiles for the users in question.  go to manage roles and add them to the role you created for that page.  Make sure you set the expiration date

When the expiration data passes the users should no longer be able to see any pages or modules that are visible to that specific role only.

Hope this helps

Mike

To change the text, you will need to learn to use the Language editor. If you use it in Host mode, rather than Admin or System mode, and if you can find where that particular text is in the treeview of controls it provides, then you can change it to anything you like. Host mode makes your changes to all portals, but spares them from being overwritten during an upgrade. Admin makes the changes just to the current portal, System does it to all, but will get overwritten on upgrade.
