I am wanting to extend the length of the page name field so that I can use longer names. Any clues would be helpful, I can't see any post relating to this, which is surprising, but I can't abbreviate the page names any further!!!

so what is the probleme with the code ? If I think about what i got out of what u said dont really know if this is data base or controls. Well if this info is stored in data base it is easy as pie. all u have to do is open the tables in the data basse and find pagename data. and tell it to have more letters i thinck it "vcar max"  if it is not data it may be in side the  user/admin controls. This is my first time trying to set this type of site up 'free bbased" but you are right there should be some sort of post about it.

The problem is exactly that. I don't know whether it is the database or the controls. And even if I did, I wouldn't know what I needed to do to fix it!!!

The Page Name field can handle a max or 50 characters. I want it to be more like the Page Title field which can handle 200!!!!

I am not a programmer, so I was hoping someone could tell me how to go about making this change.

Generally I find if I have to troll through pages of code that I don't understand, to change something I don't understand, I end up with another problem that I don't understand, understandably!!!!

Andrew you'll most likely have to make the change in a few places. In the "TABS" table in the database, any stored procedures that access the Tabs table, as well as any code inside of DNN that passing parameter information back to the stored procedures.
