Does anyone know if the search engines (Google), can see the text in a hidden module.  Or a module that is only visable to the admin.

This could be useful for keywords.  I know that its a bad idea to stuff keywords but some of my pages have very little text on them and the actual content is a little deeper.  So bascially I have sections that contain articles but the sections themselves do not have anywhere I can have much text.  I would  rather optimise the sections for search engines than the artices themselves.

If that makes sense

Or is there a way of making hidden modules googlebotable.  Or is there somthing that I can use to check.

you might try to use a hidden div in a text/html module, butI am not sure, how the search engines will handle it.

Why not just add the keywords/description in the Page Settings?  If there's a reason you don't want to do it this way....how about....

...Adding a Text/HTML module to a page that contains no content...only a summary.  Hide the container in that module.  lace it somewhere within the page so that, if it does have some "height", it won't be problematic.
