I have a module that apparantley just desided to show up and join the site...  The little f%!¤er just shows up on a singe page and wont leave.

The module is Solutions Explorer, (Marketplace, DotnetNuke, About <- tabs inside container show up), the only attributes that come with the container are: Help, Online Help and Print (I am logged in as Host)

I am running 04.05.05 and am not using this feature anywhere else on this site, google has not been able to help me so once more I turn to the masters of this forum.

We must not let the modules get away with behaviour like this...

I would have you check the TabModules table and see if there is an extra record in there.  For instance, if you have 4 module instances added to the page, but have 5 records, then you know one of them must go.

SELECT * FROM [dbo].[TabModules] WHERE [TabId] = <tab_id>

If you do find an extra record, simply delete it:

DELETE FROM [dbo].[TabModules] WHERE [TabModuleId] = <tabmoduleid>

I remembered ran into this same problem.  It happened right after the site was upgraded from dnn 3.3.7 to 4.5.5.  The Solutions Explorer module showed up on an existing page named "Solutions".  Somehow the Solutions Explorer module found it ways to the existing Solutions page and there was no option to remove it.  My manual steps to fix the problem:

  1. Renamed the Solutions page to Solutions2
  2. Created a new Solultions page
  3. Moved modules from Solutions2 to Solutions (except the Solutions Explorer)
  4. Deleted the Solutions2 page (orginal Solutions page)

Great tip!  I went the direct route, and you went the obvious (and more user-friendly) route.  ;)
