Hello

I have been trying to install DNN on my computer for several days and I haven't done it yet! I don't know what's wrong with that.

At first I tried to install DNN 4.8.0 but I got the error message "Length cannot be less than zeror; parameter name: length" & I couldn't solve the problem at all.

Then I  tried DNN 3.3.7 and again the same problem happened. I know that it's sth to do with my computer, as I managed to install it on another computer. (On that computer I had .Net Framework 1 only, but on omy own computer I have .Net Framework 1 and 2 both)

Can anyone one help me?

Thanks,

Nafiseh

One reason this error can occur is if you accidentally name your portal without letting DNN automatically create it, which should name the portal with a number like '0'.

Without seeing the full text of the application error, it's hard to diagnose the problem but in general this message during install is often due to a missing, badly formed or commented out connection string in your web.config. If you are still having this problem, please post the entire < appSettings> section of your web.config with any actual User ID and Password replaced with xxxx.

Having both .Net framework 1.1 and 2.0 should not be a problem. Which one did you select for DNN 3.3.7.  It should be able to run on either framework.
