Michael's tutorials are excellent, but for all the really basic ASP.Net stuff, see the following site, it is the "Official" ASP.Net site by Microsoft.

      http://quickstarts.asp.net/QuickStartv20/aspnet/doc/default.aspx

Lot's of stuff there...

And of course don't forget to go to the home page www.asp.net.

I appreciate your help in providing me with tutorial sites, i will check them.

But could you please tell me the reason why the code in my previous post works fine out of DNN and only works once every 2 minutes in DNN?

Ok after a little more research on my problem i came to the following conclusions:

1) If i'm not registered on my site the problem i stated above occurs - which is, my module works once every 2 minutes.

2) If i'm registered, even with a 'guest' account, the module works perfectly.

I can continue my development now since apparently the problem wasn't on the code itself (i think) and my site will only be available for registered users so i won't have the same problem again.

But out of curiosity i would like to now why this works this way or why it isn't documented (at least, i haven't seen anything on this issue)...

On a final note, i appreciate your time and effort to improve my development abilities

Thank you for your time,

Tiago Costa.

The postback problem you are experiencing with unauthenticated users is due to the module's Cache Time having been set to a non-zero value.  If the module contains controls which require postbacks (such as a button click), the Cache Time must be set to 0 to turn off output caching.  The Default Cache Time can also be set in the Module Definitions and/or the .dnn manifest file to set the default cache time that will be applied when an instance of the module is added to a page. Setting the Default Cache time to -1 will prevent this option from showing in on the module setting page.

Yeah its exactly it. After setting the Cache Time to 0 it works for unauthenticated users and now that you mention it, i've read something about that somewhere but at that time i was still installing my DNN and i've read so many tutorials that i forgot it.

If only i knew this a week ago

Anyway, problem solved. Thank you everyone for your replies.
