Hi everybody  im a dotnetnuke user, i have a question about the module development and it is that we in our company are planning to implement DotnetNuke as web portal for the internet, and we already have build our system and we have build a vast amount of classes and we have our DAL already build and what i wanto to do is use this dal dll in the module that im planing to build so i can use all the classes that we have build in our dal, and how to make that module que be export and use this dal.

Hi Jean,

Just add a reference of your dll to your project.  The only considerations you need to make are that DNN can specify database object prefixes and database owner in the web.config.  If you your modules are used internally, then you don't have to worry about it.  Just grab the connection string from web.config and you are ready to go!

That is great now i understand a bit but  this brings me another question a the question that is:

 I want to know how I can use the dal that we have already build in our system int dotnetnuke module development not de app blocks . I m testing with the templates I have in visual studio 2005 and what I have done is create a new dotnetnuke website with the starter kit and add later add a dotnetnuke module to that and as final I have add a reference to the dotnetnuke site to our Dll, all works fine but I think that it could cause some errors when I try to put that module in our production server, I hope you can let me know the best path to take.
