With Root Domain blank does it find the domain that you login in with? Is there more than one possible domain (if yes then set it to the domain you're planning on using (ie: dc=sales,dc=company,dc=com,dc=au))?

Have you looked at your IIS logs to see what error it returns when you enter your credentials.

I just thought of a couple of things, when you say it doesn't log you in after entering your credentials in the Windows/IIS login. Does that window repeatedly show up or does it act like it logged you in?

Is this the parent portal?

This is beyond the AD provider then as it looks like IIS isn't processing your crendentials. If I get some time tonight (I'm drive-by posting) I'll do up a quick file that has nothing to do with DNN that you can test with.
