Hello,

I'm facing some conflicts because of DNN Web.config inheritance. Basically the problem is when an external app is called then it uses the web.config from DNN and not from the external app.

I found what seems to be the solution by using the following in the DNN web.config

<location  inheritInChildApplications="false">

<system.web>
    <httpModules>
            <add type="......" />
        </httpModules>
    </system.web>

</location>

Any advice for or against using this approach. Is there another solution?

Regards,

FRamirez

if the other application is meant to be in a subfolder of your DNN portal, make sure to place it physically outside and create a virtual folder inside the portal directory.

Thank you for your prompt response.

Is this in addition to the change in web.config? Is it necessary to add the location tag that I mentioned in the previous post? or just by following your advice it would be enough.

using virtual directories, both applications will have their own web.config file.
