I'm happy to see this thread. My website has been down since February 9th and I'm using Network Solutions. All of sudden my Community Server 2007 is not working anymore. I've spent every week nights last week try to narrow down the issues and their tech support just not being helpful.

Today I scratch off CS2007 and put Yet Another Forum on instead. Everything works fine in my box (as does the Community Server) but it got uploaded to the Network Solutions server, bam-- Object Reference Not Set. error Now YAF display more specific message than CS2007. After some research I'm about to make a good guess that they didn't set IIS to work with URL Rewriter for ASP.Net 2.0. What a donkey. I'm calling them right now.

Kbulk,

Thanks for the post. Please let us know what comes out of the call. So far I've tried three times to install DNN 4.8.0 after NS upgraded and all have been unsuccessful. That's as of Saturday, Feb. 16th.

Jeremy, thanks for the update. I checked your site and the problem is still there, so apparently they haven't done anything yet. I hope they resolve it soon once and for all so we can install 4.8.0 and later versions manually. I don't want to depend on Network Solutions' scripts for installation of anything. I can't believe they didn't test appropriately, and even more so that they are installing a severely outdated DNN to begin with. I mean, if you are going to advertise that you support an application at least make an effort to stay current! Oh well, just ranting here...I'm still upset over this.

All,

Network solutions is aware of this issue now.  They didn't think to test there 4.5.5 installation with already existing 4.8.0 installations running.

They are currently working on the issue and know of the problem.  They don't have a ETA of a fix so we may end up having to wait a long whie.

Emil.

Where you able to reinstall 4.8 or did you have to install 4.5.5?  I've created a second SQL 2K database through NetSol's control panel and the 4.4.0 script is always failing.   Any idea?

Thanx

Jeremy,

I tried to reinstall 4.8.0 and as soon it installed and I tried to log in I ended up with the same error. I gave up on being able to make 4.8.0 run on Network Solutions, at least until they fix whatever they broke.

I had to install v. 4.5.3 through their control panel DotNetNuke installation script. It sucks that you can't install into the root folder, though, so now the website I'm currently making has a /cci appended to the end of the domain. I'm in the process of looking for better hosts. Anyone can suggest one (other than PowerDNN or WebHost4Life) ?

Thanks,

Emil
