Can someone point me to a module development tutorial that is compatible with DNN 4.8?

I'm finding that a lot of tutorials are outdated or just outright confusing.

e.g. "Copy all this then paste it" tells me absolutely nothing. I kind of need to know what's going on as I'm not planning on developing modules that already exist...

Is there somewhere where the API is explained or module development is explained in normal terms, and not in terms of "here's how to build this specific application"?

AFAIK all tutorials of Michael Washington are uptodate, see dotnetnuke.adefwebserver.com.
