Host each application (that uses web.config) in its own virtual path. Do not host another ASP.NET application in a subfolder that has another ASP.NET application installed in root path.

Thank you very much for the response. Do you recommend to create dnn as a webiste and not as a virtual directory?

Also do you have any input on how to support multiple cms for different websites by showing their links

For eg: I will create a dnn cms as "community". Now How do I map this into http://www.edmunds.com/community  or http://www.cars.com/community . These links will be point to community folder in my server.

Thanks,

Binu

As mentioned you MUST isolate DNN by having it in its own virtual directory and keep it away from other .NET applications.

Just isoloate the DNN install like mitch says, using an additional "website" not virutal directory.  you need to use port 80, so your gunna need to do..oh hI don't know..multiple IPs I guess on the server, one for each ASP.NET site you host.

As far as multiple DNN sites though...it's a portal/cms framework.  just install one copy of DNN and launch portals off that install.  If you have a dedicated IP on port 80, to that install of DNN, then you can let DNN handle all the host header translations to feed the proper content to the end user depending on what he/she typed into the web browser...lots of mumbo jumbo talk there...but really it's all automatic once DNN is working...just gotta poke around the menus.
