Hello ,

I have a few ideas I would like to make happen for RSS feeds in DNN I would be interested in any advice on leads to pursue this.

First would be to allow the user to hover over the source link in the RSS feed item and have an Ajax pop up display the linked contents.

Second would be to allow the sysop to script in some way the ability to post a feed item into the a forum thread for discussion with perhaps the headline as the forum subject and the description as a quote in the post.
Any ideas on the best starting point to achieve this is appreciated or if this is already out there… even better.

Hi Chuck,

The roll over popup thing can be done in the XSL file. I've done something like that in my own RssExtra module (now dead project).

I'm not sure I follow #2 but from what I read I think you might have misunderstood the concept of feeds. Feeds are passive 'throughputs' of info from one place to the next. With passive I mean: the source does not 'push' anything, rather the destination 'pulls' info from the source. With throughputs I mean that the info coming out of the source normally reflects to some degree what is happening there, not what it wants to happen on a destination. This is a generalization, mind you, but that is what the protocol was designed to do.
