Guys, you're just not looking hard enough.  We've got a rather long post that discusses it here:

www.dotnetnuke.com/Community/Forums/tabid/795/forumid/48/threadid/168802/scope/posts/Default.aspx

The above link gives examples of OPML used and some info about how to do it, and I've blogged about it here:

wizzodawg.blogspot.com/2007/09/feedbrowser-hidden-news-agregattor.html

Look at the info, read it, try it, and try it again, because it does work.

I read thru the entire post and the blog.  Hoiwever, I can't find what I am looking for.  Again, what I need is the ability to control the news feed so that it will be displayed in a certain/custom way.   (ie. the number of feeds displayed, the number of words per feed, the format of the date,  add dividers/space between  the feeds, etc.)

In the new feed module, I can do all this by creating a custom style sheet.  But I can't figure out how to do this with the feed explorer.  Can it be done with the OPML file?  If yes, how?  Thank you.

All of the source is available, and there are ways to customize it.  You have to do some digging to get it done, though.  Not easy for casual users, but should be just another programming hurdle for others.  I don't have time to provide you with examples, but hopefully, others will offer more help.  'Tis a bit more of a sweat than using xsl, but for what it is - I like it.
