You can add an icon, but this shows up for all links. We do have thsi on the books for the next version.

I have developed a very simple custom module that works like the link module but allows to show name, url a short description and an image too. If you want, I can send you my source and the install package.

This is on my "wish list" - a way to put up images that we've created and hyperlink them.  Yes, I can use an HTML module, but I don't have time to train people to do this, and a links module that let you upload an image and hyperlink it would be killer.  It's the UI.

(We need "buttons" for a touch screen.)

Well, actually I called it "Friends Module", since I used it to display my friends along with their name, image, description and personal website url. But I think that with a little more programming this could be a useful base for you to develop what you want. If you want the install package with all the source code email me at gnogna82[at]yahoo.it.
