Hi,

I've got a ddn site on a production server which i want to copy locally. So I copied the complete website from the production server (www.production.com) to my development machine (localhost) and copied the database in a local database server. And created a IIS instance under localhost/.

Typing http://localhost in IE redirected me to the producten server: www.production.com. Not a big deal I thought, just change the portal aliasses from production.com to localhost.

Done that, however now when i try to reach http://localhost it will keep on redirecting to itself in an infinite loop. How is this possible? And how can I solve this?

The site uses 1 main portal (language choice) and 4 subportals (4 languages):

localhost/fr (french site)
localhost (main site)
localhost/en (english site)
localhost/nl (dutch site)
localhost/d (german site)

for your portal alias

ensure that you have just localhost if you hae it installed on the ROOT of your local IIS.  NOTE do NOT have a trailing / after localhost.

Also, if you make changes directly to the database, be sure to force an application restart to clear the cache.  You can do this by adding a space to a non-critical place in the web.config

The installation is done on the ROOT of IIS yes, I do not have a trailing slash after localhost in my portal aliases. The application restart did not helped me either :( IE is still flickering if he is redirecting to itself constantly. The IIS logfile keeps filling up with 302 messages.
