Just ran through the entire wizard after a few hours of installing and got this message.  Can anyone please help?

That's an error with the Active Directory provider. Open your web.config and comment out the <add name="Authentication".... /> in the <httpModules> section. Note: There should be two lines there, one commented out and one not. Both need to be commented out. If you don't plan on using the AD provider then you're good to go, if you are planning on using it you can get the fixed beta at http://dnn.gmss.org or wait until it passes through the DNN release tracker.
