i believe this has been asked/mentioned.. but the search facility in the forums would greatly benefit from 2 changes: 1) quick access to search the current forum, and 2) change the search UI to a presented list of selectable forums rather than the current isolation mechanism. I have tested this ui with many clients and without exception, they walk away in frustration. Just a bit of feedback, and not to be misconstrued as criticism, but field-level feedback, cheers, drew..

Drew, no criticism taken.  I do find it a bit hard to believe more than one client walked away in frustration based on the search UI, but I have been in some wierd situations as well ;)  As for 2, This has been replaced with the treeview and no postback already in the source.  As for 1. I actually started implementing this and got stuck on a decision.  I am not sure what exactly should be searched aside from the forum.  Should it search body and subject, one or the other?

hey again Chrispy, i hear you re the odd situations.. the issue that repeated itself again and again was the apparent lack of intuition of how to select a particular forum. When i present ui's to clients, i try to minimize my input and direction in order to guage how much post-implementation help i will need to offer Ü... based on this, i went with another forum for my current sites, and offered the feedback in hopes to this product evolve.

As for the decision regarding searching the current forum, i would suggest both areas. I seldom see the need to isolate one or the other, but then again, i usually try to render a useful subject just in case. Cheers and thanks for the quick reply, drew..
