ASP.NET Ajax 1.0 MUST be installed for 4.8 to run.  DNN 4.8.0 will install without it which is surprising to me but won't run when you click Finished (Goto Site). 

It sometimes would display the home page after 10 minutes but I think this may be a glitch due to the high CPU and disk activity on both my web server and Sql Server virtual machines.  The home page was reloading itself 20 times a second.   

Other threads suggest commenting out Medium trust but that is not the root of the problem.  I also had to recopy the Install files minus the web.config file and did a final IIS reset to get the install to work after so multiple unsuccessful installs.

I didn't install IIS in Windows 2003 Server before installing the .NET 2.0, 3.0, and 3.5 frameworks.  Because of this I had to run aspnet_iisreg -i to register the dotnet framework with IIS.  Do you think ASP.NET Ajax needs to be installed in addition to the aspnet_iisreg -i command I had to run when IIS is installed after the dotnet frameworks?
