Isn't there a default Login Module for the DNN forms authentication provider?  I just created a new module definition to point to the Login.ascx control so I can make a secure login page, but I'm shocked there isn't one out of the box.  Am I simply missing something?

Thanks,

Tom

The login.ascx for the Standard DNN authentication is in DesktopModules/AuthenticationServices/DNN.

Sure, that's what I used to create my new module definition, but in doing so, I lose the "remember me" check box, register link, and forgot password link.  It also isn't centered / formatted, etc.

I'm going to read more about how to create modules and module definitions- perhaps after doing so I can figure out how to recreate what the page looks like as the default login.  Oh yea- and after my first attemp of creatiing the module definition, when I tested it to login, it just did a postback but didn't actually authenticate me.  Again, I'm going to spend some more time playing around with this.

If I'm going down the right path, perhaps you have a module definition you could make available that we could simply import?

Thanks for the feeback,
Tom

The authentication providers are wrapped by admin/Authentication/Login.ascx which contains the Remember Me, Register, Forgot Password, etc.

What you're really looking at trying to do is not create a module but a provider I think. When you mention making a secure login are you wanting to add something to the login control (ie: something like Captcha)? If I knew more about what you're trying to accomplish I might better be able to point you in the right direction.

Hey Mike, thanks for the response.  Actually, all I'm trying to do is have my login page use SSL.  I've got a cert installed and using the Secure option on the page settings works great.  So, I'm just trying to create a new login page that I can enable the secure option on, and then change my Login page under site settings to this newly created loging pages so all logins will be encrypted.

So, I've got the login page created and everything was off to a good start until I realized I didn't have a login module to put onto the new secure login page!  =D

Make sense?

Thanks for the assistance.
Tom
