Thanks in advance for any help.  I'm trying to get 4.8.1 to run, but keep hitting major roadblocks.  (first was a setting in machine.config needed to get the DNN app to run under XP).  Anyway, I was finally able to get the DB set up and the app to run.  However, when I click on "Login" or any other link on the app page, I either get a redirection to a page that is not found or I get a runtime error on the page "Sys not defined.  The link error goes something like this:

I start the site using http://localhost/dnn

Click on "Login", I get a page cannot be found error - and the url shows http://localhost/dnn/home/tabid/36/ctl/login/default.aspx?returnurl=%2fdnn%2fdefault.aspx

I'm sure it's something obvious I'm overlooking.

What machine.config change was needed?  What is your hosting environment including versions? Can you provide more specific errors? What instructions did you follow to install DotNetNuke?

Proper configuration is extremely important for any web application. You are not alone.
