You don't should uninstall on upgrade.

  1. Download the New Module.  Look you have the minimum Version of DNN that is supported.
  2. Login in your Protah as host.
  3. Go to the Module Defination and install the Module.
  4. Go to the Forum Page.  Open the Module settings.  Save the Module Settings
  5. Try to edit your Forums, of there is no errors use the Forum.  If you get a error Look at this: http://www.dotnetnuke.com/Community/Forums/tabid/795/forumid/7/threadid/197003/scope/posts/Default.aspx

But before upgrade we recommand backup your files and the database.  So if any goes wrong you can restore it! 

There is a new Manual you can use on the Forge project page / Downloads of the Forum Project.  Use it about there are new features and changes in the Forum 04.04.03.
