So if I understand it right, the permissions problem was since installing DNN?  If it, then we have more problems else only the forum module.

I will recommand that you do a fresh installation on a test system with all Modules you have on the produktion instance.  Then check please all Database spocs, views and functions.  Also Check please are the files on Modules you have updatet was upgradet too. It is a lot of work if you have many modules installed.

If you have a other databaseOwner running so must the string in the spocs, fuctions and view be databaseOwner.Table  or with ObjectQualifier databaseOwner.objectQualifierTable .

i.e.

If the databaseOwner = "DBuser"

DBuser.table

If the objectQualifier = "dnn_"

DBuser.dnn_Table

But you have change it only if a database is called, and not for virtual Tables.  Some Spocs creating a virtual table.

Good luck.

Hallo Matthias,

I will check do a big check next week. I looked around in the database and everything seems to have the right user. All other modules run fine.

I also checked the logs again. And maybe I have found a clue.  I checked in the database and discoverd that de DesktopModuleID mentioned in the logentry below doesn't exist. The current forum has a different DeskopModuleID.

I'm thinking that the system is trying to upgrade an old forum module. Then tries to tell the module it's finished upgrading. But the module doesn't exist, so next time it's upgraded again and again and again....

It's probably because I removed the module files of the forum by hand when the system crashed when I installed modules (the systemadmin hadn't given the ASP.NET worker process access to a temporary directory needed for compiling. I thought is was my fold. And tried to get the system running again by removing the stuff by hand)

So somewhere in the system there must be a reference to the old module. Do you have any idea where I need to look?  Could my hunch be right?

The permissionproblem I mentioned (not the one that caused the crash) was that users couldn't access the images because they had no permissions to access the image directory. The ASP-workerprocess permissions where fine.

I know there is a table where the dll files are registered.  I am not sure the table name, ModuleSettings or else.

Hallo Matthias,

I solved the problem.

I googled a bit for EventQueue.ProcessMessage: Message Processing Failed

And I found this post:

http://www.dotnetnuke.com/Community/Forums/tabid/795/forumid/42/threadid/134732/scope/posts/threadpage/2/Default.aspx

After reading this post I checked the EventQueue table and there were a number of enties with IsComplete=false. I set those entries to true and the problem was solved.

I think the problem was caused by a failed installation.  The Event in the Queue could never be completed because of this.

Regards,

Jan Alwin
