I am looking for the best way to make a core request. I have searched and I don't seem to find what I need. The problem is that we have a Nuke install that has a child portal that cannot inherit the parent settings from the web.config. The system.web section is wrapped in a <location inheritInChildApplications="false" tag. This causes problems with Ajax and forces a developer to add a ScriptManager tag to each ascx in his project. I have read that other people have had this problem and yet it is still not resolved.

Is there a way for the core team to add an additional check to DotNetNuke.Framework.AJAX.IsInstalled() to check for the path "/configuration/location/system.web/httpModules/add[@name='ScriptModule']" if the first check to the default path is null? Yes, I know I can make the change and recompile but my org is reluctant to start making our own modifications to the source code for fear of branching from the trunk. This seems to be an easy solution that can solve this XML path problem. Where would I make the suggestion to the core team? I tried to navigate Gemini and I have trouble navigating anything there.

Thanks,

George

Have you gotten any feedback on this issue yet? I'm having the same problem in 4.8.2. I have a application under DNN that is inheriting the dnn system.web. So I added the location as you did and now the ajax functions are all broken.
