I have a module that uses cache and performance settings (since they work hand in hand)...  4.8.0 everything was fine...  4.8.1 I am getting cache errors.

Just curious if anything changed.... or if 4.8.1 changed performance settings by accident?

A forced application restart corrected the issue.   Maybe it was just a bump after the upgrade.   All is well and thanks for following up.  (fyi, did an app restart within host settings but that didnt fix it..   until my host did it, who knows)

The host has access to settings that DNN doesn't. Forcing the DNN instance to restart does not necessarily mean the process hosting DNN restarts. The host may have cache settings set a particular way in IIS. That could've caused issues with your site. They (the host) wants the most efficient use of bandwidth they can get, and sometimes that will (actually will almost always) conflict with DNN's performance. Since the problem went away when the hosting provider recycled the process, you can just about guarantee they (and their settings) are the cause and solution.

That is my opinion. I may be wrong.
