Recently tthe Authentication Project Team completed the first release cycle of the CardSpace Authentication Provider for DotNetNuke.

CardSpace is a system that allows fast and secure sign in and account creation for your users. While CardSpace is a Microsoft based application, there are compatible applications for all popular operating systems including Linux and Mac.

The future of the CardSpace and DotNetNuke looks good. As an early adopter of the CardSpace and the Identity DotNetNuke shows its excellent capability to be extended. While this version of the authentication provider runs on the Microsoft.NET Framework 3.0, we are currently working on adding support for .NET 3.5.

If you've been one of the many people that have downloaded and implemented CardSpace on your DotNetNuke installation please let us know by responding to this post.

Do I need to have .NET 3.0 installed or will it run on .NET 2.0?

You need .NET 3.0.

On the server you'll require .NET 3.0.

As a user of the site you'll just need an Identity Metasystem compatible client. Generally, for Windows users, this means XP SP2 + IE7 + .NET 3.0 or Vista.

There are alternative clients that do not require the installation of .NET 3.0 on the client, just as DigitalMe.

 I am looking at implementing card space for my dnn site. Is there any documentation on what steps I should take?
